This thesis explores the critical role of sustainable agribusiness strategies in empowering smallholder farmers, a vital segment of the global agricultural landscape. Smallholder farmers, who typically operate on small plots of land and face various socioeconomic challenges, are the backbone of food production in many developing countries. However, their ability to achieve long-term sustainability and profitability is often hindered by limited access to resources, technology, and markets. The primary objective of this thesis is to investigate innovative and practical approaches that can help smallholder farmers transition towards more sustainable and resilient agribusiness models. The research delves into the key factors that influence the success of smallholder farming, including access to financing, adoption of sustainable farming practices, market integration, and the role of supportive policy frameworks. Through a comprehensive review of relevant literature and empirical case studies, this thesis analyzes the current landscape of smallholder agriculture and identifies the barriers and opportunities for sustainable development.
