Online learning platforms have gained significant popularity in recent years, offering adult learners flexible, accessible, and personalized educational opportunities. This research project aims to explore the effectiveness of online learning platforms in adult education by investigating their impact on learning outcomes, engagement levels, and overall satisfaction among adult learners. The study will employ a mixed-methods research approach, combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews to gather data from adult learners enrolled in online courses. Chapter 1 provides an introduction to the research topic, outlining the background of the study, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the research, and definition of key terms. Chapter 2 presents a comprehensive literature review covering ten key themes related to online learning platforms in adult education, including theories of adult learning, benefits and challenges of online learning, and best practices for designing effective online courses. In Chapter 3, the research methodology is detailed, including the research design, sampling strategy, data collection methods, and data analysis techniques. The chapter also discusses ethical considerations and limitations of the research methodology. Chapter 4 presents the findings of the study, analyzing the data collected from adult learners participating in online courses and providing a detailed discussion of the results in relation to the research objectives. The conclusion and summary in Chapter 5 offer a critical reflection on the research findings, highlighting key insights, implications for practice, and recommendations for future research in the field of online learning in adult education.
