Abstract
This thesis explores the impact of telehealth on chronic disease management in elderly patients through a systematic review. As the global population ages, the prevalence of chronic diseases among the elderly has increased, posing significant challenges to healthcare systems worldwide. Telehealth, which encompasses the use of technology to deliver healthcare remotely, has emerged as a potential solution to improve access to care and management of chronic conditions in elderly populations. This systematic review aims to synthesize existing research on the effectiveness of telehealth interventions in enhancing chronic disease management specifically for elderly patients. The literature review conducted in this study examines ten key areas related to telehealth and chronic disease management in elderly populations. These areas include the prevalence of chronic diseases among the elderly, the current healthcare challenges faced by this demographic, the role of telehealth in managing chronic conditions, the effectiveness of telehealth interventions, barriers to telehealth adoption among the elderly, and the potential benefits and limitations of telehealth in this context. The research methodology section outlines the approach taken to systematically review and analyze relevant studies on telehealth and chronic disease management in elderly patients.
