Abstract
This thesis investigates the impact of telehealth services on chronic disease management in older adults. The study aims to explore how telehealth interventions can improve the management of chronic diseases among the elderly population, considering factors such as accessibility, effectiveness, and patient satisfaction. Through a comprehensive review of relevant literature, the research methodology employed in this study includes a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative data analysis and qualitative interviews with healthcare providers and older adults utilizing telehealth services. The literature review highlights the increasing prevalence of chronic diseases in older adults and the challenges associated with their management, including limitations in access to healthcare services and adherence to treatment plans. Telehealth services, encompassing remote monitoring, teleconsultation, and digital health tools, have emerged as promising solutions to address these challenges and enhance the quality of care for older adults with chronic conditions. The research methodology incorporates both quantitative and qualitative data collection methods to provide a holistic understanding of the impact of telehealth services on chronic disease management in older adults. Quantitative analysis involves assessing key metrics such as healthcare utilization rates, patient outcomes, and cost-effectiveness of telehealth interventions. Qualitative interviews with healthcare providers and older adults offer insights into their perceptions, experiences, and satisfaction with telehealth services. The findings of this study reveal the positive impact of telehealth services on chronic disease management in older adults, including improved access to care, enhanced patient engagement, and better health outcomes. Additionally, the study identifies barriers and challenges to the widespread adoption of telehealth services among older adults, such as technological literacy, privacy concerns, and reimbursement policies. In conclusion, this thesis contributes to the growing body of evidence supporting the effectiveness of telehealth services in improving chronic disease management in older adults. The study underscores the importance of integrating telehealth interventions into healthcare delivery systems to address the unique needs of the aging population and optimize health outcomes. Recommendations for policymakers, healthcare providers, and stakeholders are provided to promote the sustainable implementation of telehealth services for older adults with chronic conditions, ensuring equitable access to quality care and promoting healthy aging.
