Abstract
The advancement of technology has revolutionized the healthcare industry, with telehealth emerging as a promising tool to enhance patient care delivery in nursing practice. This thesis explores the impact of telehealth on patient care in nursing practice, aiming to provide insights into the benefits and challenges associated with its implementation. The study begins with a comprehensive introduction, discussing the background of telehealth and the rationale for exploring its impact on patient care. The problem statement highlights the gaps in current literature regarding the effectiveness of telehealth in nursing practice, leading to the formulation of research objectives to address these gaps. The limitations of the study and the scope of research are also outlined to provide a clear focus for the investigation. A critical review of relevant literature forms the foundation of the research, with ten key themes identified to explore the impact of telehealth on patient care. These themes include accessibility, quality of care, patient outcomes, cost-effectiveness, provider satisfaction, patient satisfaction, technology acceptance, regulatory challenges, ethical considerations, and future implications. Each theme is examined in detail to provide a comprehensive understanding of the current state of telehealth in nursing practice. The research methodology section outlines the approach taken to investigate the impact of telehealth on patient care, including the research design, data collection methods, sampling strategy, data analysis techniques, and ethical considerations. The study employs a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative surveys with qualitative interviews to gather insights from both nurses and patients regarding their experiences with telehealth. The findings of the study are presented in the discussion chapter, highlighting the key outcomes related to the impact of telehealth on patient care in nursing practice.
