Abstract
This thesis explores the impact of telehealth services on chronic disease management in older adults. With the increasing prevalence of chronic diseases among the elderly population, there is a growing need for innovative approaches to improve healthcare delivery and patient outcomes. Telehealth, which involves the use of technology to deliver healthcare services remotely, has emerged as a promising solution to address the challenges associated with managing chronic conditions in older adults. This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of telehealth services in enhancing the management of chronic diseases among older adults, with a focus on key areas such as access to care, patient engagement, health outcomes, and cost-effectiveness. Chapter One provides an introduction to the research topic, presenting the background of the study, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the thesis, and definition of key terms. The literature review in Chapter Two examines existing research on telehealth services in chronic disease management, highlighting the benefits and challenges associated with the use of telehealth technologies in older adult populations. Drawing on a comprehensive review of relevant studies, this chapter establishes a theoretical framework for understanding the impact of telehealth on chronic disease management in older adults. Chapter Three outlines the research methodology employed in this study, including the research design, data collection methods, sampling strategy, data analysis techniques, and ethical considerations. The methodology section provides a detailed overview of how the research aims will be achieved and how data will be collected and analyzed to address the research questions. Chapter Four presents the findings of the study, offering a comprehensive analysis of the data collected and discussing the implications of the results for the field of telehealth and chronic disease management in older adults. In Chapter Five, the conclusion and summary of the project thesis are presented, summarizing the key findings of the study, discussing their implications for healthcare practice and policy, and suggesting areas for future research.
