Abstract
Telehealth has emerged as a promising solution to improve healthcare access and outcomes, particularly in managing chronic diseases among the elderly population. This thesis presents a comprehensive systematic review and meta-analysis exploring the impact of telehealth interventions on chronic disease management in the elderly. The study aims to synthesize existing evidence to determine the effectiveness of telehealth in improving health outcomes, adherence to treatment, and quality of life among elderly individuals with chronic conditions. The literature review reveals a growing body of research supporting the use of telehealth technologies, such as remote monitoring, teleconsultation, and telemedicine, in managing chronic diseases in older adults. Key themes identified include enhanced accessibility to care, improved patient engagement, and potential cost savings associated with telehealth interventions. However, there is also variability in study designs, outcomes measured, and populations studied, highlighting the need for a systematic review to consolidate and analyze findings. The research methodology section outlines the systematic approach employed to identify relevant studies, extract data, and conduct a meta-analysis. A comprehensive search strategy was implemented across multiple electronic databases to identify peer-reviewed articles focusing on telehealth interventions in chronic disease management among the elderly.
