Abstract
The rise of multi-drug resistant bacteria poses a significant threat to global public health, necessitating the exploration of alternative antimicrobial agents. Herbal extracts have long been used in traditional medicine for their potential therapeutic properties, including antimicrobial activity. This thesis investigates the antimicrobial activity of herbal extracts against multi-drug resistant bacteria, aiming to identify potential natural compounds that could serve as effective antimicrobial agents. Chapter 1 provides an introduction to the research topic, outlining the background of the study, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the thesis, and definition of key terms. The literature review in Chapter 2 examines existing studies on the antimicrobial properties of various herbal extracts, highlighting their potential in combating multi-drug resistant bacteria. Chapter 3 details the research methodology, including the selection and preparation of herbal extracts, bacterial strains used, antimicrobial susceptibility testing methods, data analysis techniques, and ethical considerations.
