Periodontal disease is a prevalent oral health issue affecting a significant portion of the global population. Conventional treatment methods for periodontal disease often involve invasive procedures and may have limitations in achieving optimal outcomes. Laser therapy has emerged as a promising alternative in the treatment of periodontal disease due to its potential for precision, minimally invasive nature, and reduced discomfort for patients. This study aims to evaluate the efficacy of laser therapy in the treatment of periodontal disease through a comprehensive review of existing literature and the implementation of a research methodology that includes clinical assessments and data analysis. The literature review section of this thesis provides a detailed examination of ten key studies that have investigated the use of laser therapy in the treatment of periodontal disease. These studies encompass various aspects of laser therapy, including its mechanisms of action, clinical outcomes, and comparisons with traditional treatment modalities. By synthesizing the findings from these studies, this thesis aims to identify trends, knowledge gaps, and areas for further research within the field of laser therapy for periodontal disease. The research methodology section outlines the design and implementation of a clinical study to assess the efficacy of laser therapy in a sample population of patients with periodontal disease.
