Abstract
This thesis investigates the efficacy of various teeth whitening techniques in enhancing aesthetic outcomes. The study aims to provide valuable insights into the effectiveness of different teeth whitening methods commonly used in dental practice. The research methodology involved a comprehensive literature review to examine existing studies and clinical trials on teeth whitening techniques. In addition, a randomized controlled trial was conducted to directly compare the outcomes of different whitening procedures on a sample of participants. Chapter One introduces the research topic, provides the background of the study, outlines the problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, and structure of the thesis. The definitions of key terms used throughout the thesis are also presented. Chapter Two presents a detailed literature review comprising ten main sections that explore the history of teeth whitening, the science behind various whitening techniques, common whitening agents, mechanisms of action, potential side effects, patient satisfaction levels, and comparisons between in-office and at-home whitening methods. Chapter Three outlines the research methodology employed in this study. This chapter includes information on the study design, participant selection criteria, ethical considerations, data collection methods, whitening procedures utilized, outcome measures, statistical analysis techniques, and potential biases. Chapter Four provides a comprehensive discussion of the findings obtained from the literature review and the randomized controlled trial.
