The use of virtual reality (VR) simulation training in dental education has gained increasing attention in recent years due to its potential to enhance skill acquisition and confidence levels among dental students. This thesis investigates the impact of VR simulation training on dental student skill acquisition and confidence levels. The study is motivated by the need to explore innovative educational tools that can improve dental education and ultimately enhance patient care outcomes. The introduction provides an overview of the research topic, highlighting the importance of skill development and confidence in dental education. The background of the study discusses the emergence of VR technology in dental education and its potential benefits. The problem statement identifies the gap in the existing literature regarding the effectiveness of VR simulation training in dental education. The objectives of the study are to evaluate the impact of VR simulation training on dental student skill acquisition and confidence levels. The literature review explores existing research on VR simulation training in healthcare education, focusing on its applications, benefits, and challenges. Ten key themes emerge from the literature, including the effectiveness of VR training, student engagement, and transferability of skills from simulation to clinical practice.
