Periodontal disease is a prevalent oral health condition characterized by inflammation and infection of the tissues surrounding the teeth. Traditional treatment approaches for periodontal disease often involve mechanical debridement and antimicrobial therapy. However, the emergence of laser therapy as a potential alternative treatment modality has sparked interest in its efficacy in managing periodontal disease. This thesis aims to assess the efficacy of laser therapy in the treatment of periodontal disease by conducting a comprehensive review of existing literature, analyzing research methodologies, and discussing key findings. The introduction provides an overview of periodontal disease, highlighting its impact on oral health and quality of life. The background of the study explores the evolution of laser therapy in dentistry and its potential applications in periodontal disease management. The problem statement identifies the gaps in current treatment approaches and underscores the need for alternative therapeutic options like laser therapy. The objectives of the study outline the specific goals and research questions that guide the investigation.
