Abstract
This research project focuses on analyzing the impact of social media on mental health among adolescents. Social media has become an integral part of daily life for many young people, with platforms like Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and Snapchat being used for communication, self-expression, and social connection. While social media offers various benefits, such as facilitating communication and providing a platform for self-expression, there is growing concern about its negative impact on mental health, particularly among adolescents. The research explores the various ways in which social media use can influence the mental well-being of adolescents. This includes examining the potential link between excessive social media use and issues such as anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem. Additionally, the project investigates the role of cyberbullying and online harassment in contributing to mental health problems among young people. Through a comprehensive literature review and data analysis, the research aims to provide insights into the complex relationship between social media and mental health among adolescents. By examining existing studies and collecting new data, the project seeks to identify patterns and trends that shed light on the impact of social media on young people's psychological well-being. The project also considers the potential benefits of social media in promoting mental health and well-being among adolescents. For example, social media can be used as a tool for providing support, raising awareness about mental health issues, and connecting young people with resources and services. By exploring both the positive and negative aspects of social media use, the research aims to provide a balanced perspective on its impact on adolescent mental health.
