Body-worn cameras (BWCs) have become increasingly prevalent in law enforcement agencies as a tool to enhance transparency and accountability in policing practices. This thesis examines the impact of body-worn cameras on police-community relations from a criminological perspective. The study delves into the effectiveness of body-worn cameras in improving police behavior, citizen perceptions, and overall trust between law enforcement officers and the communities they serve. The research begins with an exploration of the background and rationale for the adoption of body-worn cameras in policing practices. It identifies the problem statement regarding the need to address issues of police misconduct, community mistrust, and the potential benefits of implementing BWCs. The objectives of the study are to evaluate the impact of body-worn cameras on police behavior and community interactions, to assess the limitations and challenges associated with their use, and to analyze the scope of their influence on police-community relations.
