Abstract
Community policing has gained momentum as a proactive approach to crime prevention and reduction in urban areas. This thesis explores the impact of community policing on crime reduction, focusing on a case study in urban areas. The study aims to examine the effectiveness of community policing strategies in enhancing public safety and reducing crime rates within urban communities. The research methodology employed a mixed-method approach, combining quantitative analysis of crime data and qualitative data gathered from interviews with key stakeholders involved in community policing initiatives. The literature review identified key concepts and theories related to community policing, crime reduction, and the role of law enforcement in fostering community partnerships. Findings from the study revealed that community policing initiatives have contributed significantly to crime reduction in urban areas.
