Abstract
This thesis explores the impact of body-worn cameras on police accountability and public trust in law enforcement. The use of body-worn cameras has become increasingly prevalent in policing as a tool to enhance transparency and accountability. However, the effectiveness of these devices in improving police conduct and public trust remains a subject of debate. This study aims to investigate the influence of body-worn cameras on police behavior, accountability mechanisms, and public perceptions within the context of law enforcement. The research begins with a comprehensive review of the existing literature on body-worn cameras, police accountability, and public trust in law enforcement. By examining previous studies, theoretical frameworks, and empirical evidence, this review sets the foundation for understanding the complex dynamics between technology, accountability, and public trust. Methodologically, this study employs a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative surveys with qualitative interviews and observations.
