Body-worn cameras (BWCs) have become increasingly prevalent in law enforcement agencies worldwide as a tool to enhance transparency and accountability in police interactions with the public. This thesis investigates the impact of body-worn cameras on police use of force incidents through a criminological analysis. The study examines the effectiveness of BWCs in reducing use of force incidents, their influence on police behavior and citizen interactions, and the implications for law enforcement policies and practices. The research methodology includes a comprehensive literature review to provide a theoretical foundation for the study. The review covers various aspects related to BWCs, use of force incidents, police accountability, and the legal and ethical considerations surrounding the use of BWCs in policing. The study also incorporates empirical data from case studies, surveys, and interviews with law enforcement officers, community members, and stakeholders in the criminal justice system. Findings from the analysis reveal that the presence of body-worn cameras has a significant impact on police behavior and citizen interactions during use of force incidents.
