Thesis Abstract

This study seeks to evaluate the effectiveness of restorative justice programs in addressing the needs of both victims and offenders in the criminal justice system. Restorative justice is an alternative approach to traditional punitive measures, emphasizing the repair of harm caused by criminal behavior through dialogue, restitution, and community involvement. The research will involve a comparative analysis of recidivism rates and victim satisfaction between cases processed through restorative justice programs and those processed through conventional criminal justice procedures. Additionally, qualitative data will be collected through interviews with participants in restorative justice processes to assess their experiences and perceptions of the program. The findings of this study will contribute to the understanding of restorative justice as a viable approach to promoting healing and accountability in the aftermath of criminal harm.
