Abstract
Maritime security is a critical aspect of global trade and transportation, with ports serving as vital hubs for economic activities. Information and Communications Technology (ICT) applications play a significant role in enhancing maritime security by providing real-time monitoring, communication, and data analysis capabilities. This research project focuses on assessing the implementation of ICT applications for maritime security at Rivers Port, using it as a case study. The study aims to investigate the current ICT infrastructure and applications in place at Rivers Port to enhance security measures. By conducting interviews with key stakeholders, including port authorities, security personnel, and ICT experts, the research seeks to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the existing systems. Furthermore, the project will evaluate the effectiveness of ICT tools such as surveillance cameras, access control systems, and communication networks in ensuring the security of the port. Through a comprehensive analysis of data collected from surveys and on-site observations, the research will assess the level of integration and interoperability of ICT systems at Rivers Port. This evaluation will help in determining the extent to which these technologies contribute to a more secure and efficient port operation.
