Abstract
Climate change is one of the most pressing issues of our time, with far-reaching implications for various ecosystems and wildlife populations. Among the many species affected by climate change, birds are particularly vulnerable due to their reliance on specific environmental conditions for breeding, feeding, and migration. This thesis investigates the impact of climate change on bird migration patterns, focusing on how changing climatic conditions are altering the timing, routes, and destinations of bird migrations. Chapter One provides an introduction to the study, outlining the background of the research, the problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, and the structure of the thesis. Definitions of key terms related to bird migration and climate change are also provided to establish a common understanding of the topic. Chapter Two presents a comprehensive literature review that synthesizes existing research on the effects of climate change on bird migration. The review covers ten key areas, including the role of temperature, precipitation, habitat loss, and phenology in shaping bird migration patterns. By analyzing previous studies, this chapter sets the stage for understanding the current state of knowledge in the field. Chapter Three details the research methodology employed in this study, including the data collection methods, sampling techniques, and analytical tools used to assess bird migration patterns in the context of climate change.
