**Abstract
** Climate change is a pressing global issue that poses significant threats to marine biodiversity, particularly coral reefs. This thesis focuses on examining the impact of climate change on marine biodiversity with a specific case study on coral reefs. The study aims to analyze the various effects of climate change on coral reefs, including rising sea temperatures, ocean acidification, and extreme weather events, and their implications for marine ecosystems. The research methodology employed in this study involves a comprehensive literature review to understand the current state of knowledge on the subject. Various scientific studies, reports, and publications were analyzed to gather relevant data and information. Additionally, fieldwork was conducted at selected coral reef sites to collect primary data on the condition of the reefs and the biodiversity present. The findings of the study reveal the alarming extent of damage that climate change has inflicted on coral reefs worldwide. Rising sea temperatures have led to coral bleaching events, causing widespread mortality among coral species. Ocean acidification has also negatively impacted the ability of corals to build their calcium carbonate skeletons, weakening the reef structure. Furthermore, extreme weather events such as hurricanes and cyclones have caused physical damage to coral reefs, further exacerbating their decline. The implications of these findings are significant for marine biodiversity and ecosystem health. Coral reefs are crucial habitats that support a diverse array of marine species, and their decline could have cascading effects on the entire marine ecosystem. Urgent action is needed to mitigate the impacts of climate change on coral reefs and preserve marine biodiversity for future generations. In conclusion, this thesis provides valuable insights into the impact of climate change on marine biodiversity, focusing on coral reefs as a case study. By highlighting the threats facing coral reefs and the broader marine ecosystem, this study underscores the urgent need for conservation efforts and sustainable management practices to protect these valuable ecosystems.
