Abstract
Climate change poses a significant threat to global biodiversity, and its effects on insect populations within tropical rainforest ecosystems are of particular concern due to the high levels of species diversity and ecological importance of insects in these regions. This thesis investigates the impact of climate change on insect populations in a tropical rainforest ecosystem, focusing on how changes in temperature, precipitation patterns, and other environmental factors are influencing insect abundance, distribution, and interactions within the ecosystem. The study begins with an introduction that highlights the importance of insects in tropical rainforest ecosystems and outlines the potential implications of climate change on insect populations. A comprehensive review of existing literature is presented in the second chapter, exploring current knowledge on the responses of insect species to climate change and the mechanisms driving these responses.
