Telemedicine is increasingly being adopted in various fields of medicine to improve access to healthcare services, reduce costs, and enhance patient care. In the field of veterinary medicine, telemedicine presents a promising opportunity to address challenges such as limited access to specialized care in remote areas and the need for more efficient communication between veterinarians and pet owners. This thesis aims to explore the role of telemedicine in veterinary care through a comparative study of traditional in-person consultations and remote consultations using telemedicine technologies. The study begins with an introduction to the topic, providing background information on the growing importance of telemedicine in veterinary medicine. The problem statement highlights the challenges faced in traditional veterinary care and the potential benefits of integrating telemedicine into practice. The objectives of the study include assessing the effectiveness of telemedicine in veterinary care, exploring the attitudes of veterinarians and pet owners towards telemedicine, and identifying any limitations associated with remote consultations. In the literature review, ten key areas related to telemedicine in veterinary care are examined, including the current state of telemedicine in veterinary medicine, the benefits and challenges of telemedicine adoption, ethical considerations, legal regulations, and the impact of telemedicine on patient outcomes and client satisfaction. The research methodology section outlines the approach taken to conduct the comparative study, including the selection of participants, data collection methods, and analysis techniques. The study involves surveys and interviews with veterinarians and pet owners to gather insights into their experiences with traditional and remote consultations. The discussion of findings presents the results of the study, highlighting the differences between traditional and remote consultations in terms of convenience, cost-effectiveness, diagnostic accuracy, and overall satisfaction. The findings are analyzed in the context of existing literature to draw conclusions on the effectiveness of telemedicine in veterinary care. In conclusion, this thesis emphasizes the potential of telemedicine to transform veterinary care by improving access to services, enhancing communication between veterinarians and clients, and optimizing the overall quality of care.
