Abstract
Zoonotic diseases pose a significant threat to both animal and human health globally. Domestic pets, as important members of households, can serve as reservoirs for various zoonotic pathogens. This research project aims to investigate the prevalence and risk factors associated with zoonotic diseases in domestic pets and their potential impacts on human health. The study focuses on understanding the transmission dynamics of zoonotic diseases from pets to humans, as well as identifying key factors that influence the spread of these diseases. The research methodology involves a comprehensive literature review to examine existing knowledge on zoonotic diseases in domestic pets and their implications for human health. This review will cover various aspects such as common zoonotic pathogens, modes of transmission, risk factors, and preventive measures. Additionally, a cross-sectional survey will be conducted among pet owners to gather data on pet demographics, health status, and potential exposure to zoonotic pathogens. The findings from this study will provide valuable insights into the prevalence of zoonotic diseases in domestic pets and the associated risk factors. By identifying the key factors contributing to the transmission of zoonotic pathogens from pets to humans, this research aims to inform the development of effective prevention and control strategies. Ultimately, the results of this study will contribute to enhancing public awareness of zoonotic diseases and promoting responsible pet ownership practices to minimize the risk of disease transmission. Thesis Overview
