Abstract
This thesis investigates the effectiveness of stem cell therapy in treating osteoarthritis in dogs. Osteoarthritis is a common degenerative joint disease in dogs, causing pain, stiffness, and decreased mobility. Stem cell therapy has emerged as a promising treatment modality for osteoarthritis due to its regenerative potential. The objective of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of stem cell therapy in alleviating the symptoms of osteoarthritis in dogs and improving their quality of life. The study begins with a comprehensive literature review to examine the current understanding of osteoarthritis in dogs, the mechanisms of action of stem cell therapy, and previous research studies on the topic. The research methodology section outlines the experimental design, sample selection criteria, stem cell administration protocols, outcome measures, and statistical analysis methods employed in this study. The findings from this research are presented and discussed in detail in Chapter Four. The results demonstrate the positive effects of stem cell therapy in reducing pain, improving joint function, and enhancing the overall well-being of dogs with osteoarthritis. Factors influencing the success of stem cell therapy, such as cell source, dosage, and administration route, are also analyzed. In conclusion, the study highlights the significant benefits of stem cell therapy as a novel treatment approach for osteoarthritis in dogs. The promising results indicate that stem cell therapy has the potential to revolutionize the management of osteoarthritis in veterinary medicine. Recommendations for further research and clinical application of stem cell therapy in canine osteoarthritis are provided. Overall, this thesis contributes to the growing body of knowledge on stem cell therapy for osteoarthritis in dogs and underscores its potential as a safe and effective treatment option. The findings of this study have implications for improving the quality of life of dogs suffering from osteoarthritis and advancing the field of regenerative medicine in veterinary practice.
