Abstract
Canine heartworm disease is a serious and potentially fatal condition caused by the parasitic worm Dirofilaria immitis. Early detection of this disease is crucial for successful treatment and management. The current diagnostic methods for canine heartworm disease have limitations in terms of sensitivity, specificity, and cost-effectiveness. Therefore, there is a critical need for the development of a novel diagnostic tool that can provide early and accurate detection of this disease. This thesis presents the research and development of a novel diagnostic tool for the early detection of canine heartworm disease. The study aims to address the limitations of existing diagnostic methods by utilizing innovative technologies and approaches. The research methodology involves a combination of laboratory experiments, data analysis, and validation studies to assess the performance and reliability of the proposed diagnostic tool. Chapter 1 provides an introduction to the study, background information on canine heartworm disease, the problem statement, objectives of the study, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the thesis, and definitions of key terms.
