Abstract
This thesis investigates the potential efficacy of stem cell therapy in the treatment of osteoarthritis in dogs. Osteoarthritis is a common degenerative joint disease in canines, leading to pain, stiffness, and reduced mobility. Current treatment options for osteoarthritis in dogs are limited and often focus on managing symptoms rather than addressing the underlying cause. Stem cell therapy has emerged as a promising regenerative medicine approach that aims to promote tissue repair and regeneration. The objective of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of stem cell therapy in alleviating the symptoms of osteoarthritis and improving the overall quality of life in dogs. Chapter One provides an introduction to the research topic, including the background of the study, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the thesis, and definition of key terms. The literature review in Chapter Two examines existing research on osteoarthritis in dogs, current treatment options, and the mechanisms of action underlying stem cell therapy. Chapter Three outlines the research methodology, including the study design, sample selection, stem cell administration protocols, outcome measures, data analysis methods, and ethical considerations. In Chapter Four, the findings of the study are discussed in detail, including the clinical outcomes of stem cell therapy in dogs with osteoarthritis, changes in pain scores, joint mobility, and overall quality of life. The results are analyzed and compared with existing literature to draw conclusions regarding the efficacy of stem cell therapy for osteoarthritis in dogs. Chapter Five presents the conclusions drawn from the study, implications for veterinary practice, recommendations for further research, and a summary of the key findings.
