Telemedicine, the use of technology to deliver healthcare remotely, has gained prominence in human medicine, but its application in veterinary practice is relatively underexplored. This thesis aims to investigate the role of telemedicine in veterinary practice, focusing on the opportunities and challenges it presents. The study begins by providing an overview of the background of telemedicine in veterinary medicine and identifying the problem statement surrounding its adoption. The objectives of the study are to assess the current status of telemedicine in veterinary practice, examine the limitations and scope of its application, and highlight the significance of integrating telemedicine into veterinary care. The structure of the thesis is outlined to guide the reader through the research process. A comprehensive literature review in Chapter Two explores ten key areas related to telemedicine in veterinary practice, including its historical development, technological advancements, legal and ethical considerations, benefits for animal health, and challenges faced by practitioners. Chapter Three details the research methodology employed in this study, covering aspects such as data collection methods, sample selection, and data analysis techniques. The chapter also discusses the ethical considerations and limitations of the research process. Chapter Four presents a detailed discussion of the findings, drawing on data collected from surveys, interviews, and case studies. The chapter examines the opportunities that telemedicine offers in improving access to veterinary care, enhancing communication between veterinarians and pet owners, and facilitating remote diagnosis and treatment. Additionally, the challenges of implementing telemedicine in veterinary practice, such as regulatory hurdles, technological limitations, and concerns about the quality of care, are analyzed. In the concluding Chapter Five, the thesis summarizes the key findings and insights gained from the research.
