Abstract
Osteoarthritis is a common and debilitating joint disease affecting dogs, leading to pain, reduced mobility, and a decreased quality of life. Stem cell therapy has emerged as a promising treatment option for osteoarthritis in dogs, offering the potential to regenerate damaged joint tissues and alleviate symptoms. This thesis explores the use of stem cell therapy in treating osteoarthritis in dogs, aiming to evaluate its efficacy, safety, and long-term outcomes. Chapter One provides an introduction to the study, presenting the background of osteoarthritis in dogs, the problem statement, objectives of the study, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the thesis, and definition of key terms. The literature review in Chapter Two delves into ten key aspects related to stem cell therapy for osteoarthritis in dogs, including the mechanisms of action, types of stem cells used, previous studies, and current trends in the field. Chapter Three details the research methodology employed in this study, covering aspects such as the selection of study subjects, stem cell administration techniques, outcome measures, data analysis methods, and ethical considerations. Chapter Four presents a comprehensive discussion of the findings, analyzing the efficacy of stem cell therapy in treating osteoarthritis in dogs based on the study results and comparing them to existing literature.
