Urban green spaces play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life and well-being of urban residents. This research project investigates the impact of urban green spaces on public health in a metropolitan area, focusing on how access to and utilization of these spaces influence the health outcomes of the population. The study employs a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative analysis of health data with qualitative assessments of green space characteristics and community perceptions. The introductory chapter provides a comprehensive overview of the research, including the background of the study, problem statement, research objectives, limitations, scope, significance, and the structure of the thesis. Chapter two presents a thorough literature review covering ten key aspects related to urban green spaces, public health, and their interconnections. Chapter three outlines the research methodology, detailing the research design, data collection methods, sampling techniques, data analysis procedures, ethical considerations, and potential limitations. The chapter also discusses the selection criteria for the study area and the specific indicators used to assess public health outcomes. Chapter four presents the detailed findings of the research, highlighting the relationships between urban green spaces and various health indicators such as physical activity levels, mental health outcomes, air quality, and community well-being.
