Thesis Abstract

Abstract
Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) has emerged as a sustainable urban planning strategy globally to address the challenges associated with urbanization, transportation, and land use. This thesis aims to assess the implementation of Transit-Oriented Development in urban areas, focusing on its effectiveness in promoting sustainable urban development. The study explores the background, problems, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, and structure of the research in Chapter One. Chapter Two presents a comprehensive literature review covering ten key aspects related to Transit-Oriented Development. Chapter Three outlines the research methodology, including research design, data collection methods, sampling techniques, and data analysis procedures. Chapter Four discusses the findings of the study, analyzing the current status of TOD implementation, identifying challenges and opportunities, and evaluating the impact on urban areas. Lastly, Chapter Five provides conclusions, recommendations, and a summary of the thesis findings. The research findings contribute to the body of knowledge on Transit-Oriented Development and offer insights for urban planners, policymakers, and stakeholders involved in sustainable urban development.
