Thesis Abstract
Gender and family type can significantly influence the assertive behavior of workers in organizational settings. This research project aimed to explore the impact of gender and family type on assertive behavior among employees. The study utilized a mixed-methods approach, combining surveys and interviews to gather data from a diverse sample of workers across various industries. The findings revealed interesting insights into how gender and family type interact to shape assertiveness in the workplace. Gender was found to have a significant influence on assertive behavior, with men generally exhibiting higher levels of assertiveness compared to women. This finding aligns with existing literature on gender differences in communication styles and assertiveness. Moreover, family type was also identified as a key factor affecting assertive behavior. Workers who were single or had no children tended to display higher levels of assertiveness compared to those who were married or had children. This suggests that family responsibilities and dynamics can impact an individual's assertiveness at work. Interestingly, the study also uncovered some differences in how gender and family type intersect to influence assertive behavior. For example, female workers who were single exhibited higher levels of assertiveness compared to their married counterparts.
