Abstract
This thesis examines the impact of virtual assistants on traditional secretarial roles in contemporary workplaces. The rapid advancement of technology has introduced virtual assistants as digital tools designed to enhance productivity and streamline administrative tasks traditionally performed by secretaries. This study aims to explore how the integration of virtual assistants influences the responsibilities, functions, and overall role of secretaries in modern organizational settings. The research begins with a comprehensive review of the literature on virtual assistants, secretarial roles, and the intersection between technology and administrative support functions. The study then delves into the research methodology, which includes data collection through surveys, interviews, and case studies to gather insights from both secretaries and their supervisors regarding their experiences with virtual assistants. The findings reveal that virtual assistants have significantly impacted traditional secretarial roles by automating routine tasks, improving communication efficiency, and enabling remote work capabilities. However, challenges such as resistance to change, job displacement fears, and privacy concerns have also emerged as a result of this technological shift.
