Religious festivals play a significant role in promoting social cohesion within diverse communities by providing opportunities for individuals to come together, celebrate, and engage in shared cultural practices. This thesis aims to explore the influence of religious festivals on social cohesion within diverse communities, focusing on how these events contribute to fostering a sense of belonging, unity, and mutual understanding among participants. Through an interdisciplinary approach drawing on Religious and Cultural Studies, Sociology, and Anthropology, this research investigates the impact of religious festivals on social relationships, community dynamics, and identity formation. The study begins with an introduction that sets the context for the research by highlighting the importance of understanding the role of religious festivals in promoting social cohesion. The background of the study provides a comprehensive overview of existing literature on religious festivals, social cohesion, and community dynamics, emphasizing the gaps in current scholarship that this research seeks to address.
