Abstract
This thesis investigates the optimization of Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) practices to achieve cost reduction in the Manufacturing Industry. The study is motivated by the critical role that suppliers play in influencing the cost structure and overall performance of manufacturing firms. The objective of this research is to identify strategies and best practices that can enhance the management of supplier relationships to drive down costs and improve operational efficiency within the manufacturing sector. The research methodology employed in this study includes a comprehensive literature review to examine existing theories, models, and empirical studies related to SRM and cost reduction in the context of the manufacturing industry. Additionally, primary data is collected through interviews and surveys with industry experts and practitioners to gain insights into current practices, challenges, and opportunities in supplier management. Chapter 1 provides an introduction to the research topic, outlining the background, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the thesis, and definitions of key terms.
