In recent years, the advancement of technology has revolutionized the way governments interact with their citizens. E-government, the utilization of electronic technologies to deliver government services and engage with citizens, has become a prominent feature in public administration. This thesis examines the impact of e-government on citizen engagement in public administration. The study delves into how e-government initiatives have transformed the relationship between governments and citizens, leading to increased transparency, accessibility, and participation in governance processes. The research begins with an exploration of the background of e-government and its evolution over the years. It identifies the problem statement concerning the effectiveness of e-government in enhancing citizen engagement and participation. The objectives of the study include assessing the benefits and challenges of e-government implementation, examining the extent of citizen engagement through e-government platforms, and proposing recommendations for improving e-government strategies. Despite the potential advantages of e-government, there are limitations to consider, such as digital divide issues, cybersecurity concerns, and privacy implications.
