The advent of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) has revolutionized the way governments interact with citizens, paving the way for the implementation of E-Government services to enhance citizen engagement and participation in local governance. This thesis explores the significance of implementing E-Government services in local governance and its impact on citizen engagement. The research methodology employed a mixed-method approach, combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews to gather data from citizens and government officials. Chapter One provides an introduction to the study, including the background, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure, and definition of terms. Chapter Two presents a comprehensive literature review covering ten key themes related to E-Government services, citizen engagement, and local governance. The literature review establishes the theoretical framework for understanding the concepts and relationships explored in this thesis. Chapter Three outlines the research methodology, detailing the research design, data collection methods, sampling techniques, data analysis procedures, ethical considerations, and limitations. The methodology aims to provide a robust foundation for conducting the study and ensuring the validity and reliability of the findings. Chapter Four presents the findings of the study, highlighting the key insights obtained from the data analysis.
