Abstract
The advancement of technology has transformed the way public services are delivered in local governments around the world. This study investigates the impact of technology integration on public service delivery in local governments, with a focus on identifying the benefits, challenges, and implications of incorporating technology into service delivery processes. The research methodology employed a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative data analysis and qualitative case studies to provide a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter. Chapter One introduces the research topic and provides background information on the significance of technology integration in public administration. The problem statement highlights the gaps in existing literature and the need for empirical research to explore the effects of technology on public service delivery. The objectives of the study are outlined to guide the research process, while the limitations and scope of the study clarify the boundaries and constraints of the research. The significance of the study is discussed to underscore its relevance to academia and practice, and the structure of the thesis is presented to outline the organization of the chapters. Lastly, key terms are defined to establish a common understanding of the concepts used throughout the thesis. Chapter Two presents a comprehensive literature review on technology integration in public service delivery. The review covers ten key areas, including the evolution of technology in public administration, theoretical frameworks for understanding technology impacts, best practices in technology adoption, challenges faced by local governments in implementing technology solutions, and the role of leadership in driving technological change in organizations. Chapter Three details the research methodology employed in the study, including the research design, data collection methods, sampling techniques, and data analysis procedures. The chapter discusses the rationale for choosing a mixed-methods approach and explains how the research objectives were addressed through the research methodology.
