Performance management systems play a crucial role in enhancing organizational effectiveness and efficiency in the public sector. This thesis explores the implementation of performance management systems in public sector organizations through a case study approach. The study aims to investigate the challenges, opportunities, and impacts of implementing performance management systems, focusing on a specific public sector organization. The research methodology involves a mixed-methods approach, incorporating both qualitative and quantitative data collection methods to provide a comprehensive analysis. Chapter One provides an introduction to the research topic, including the background of the study, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the thesis, and definition of key terms.
