Abstract
Public-private partnerships (PPPs) have emerged as a popular mechanism for delivering public services efficiently and effectively. This thesis explores the effectiveness of PPPs in improving service delivery in local governments. The study aims to analyze the key factors that contribute to the success or failure of PPP projects, identify best practices, and provide recommendations for enhancing the outcomes of such partnerships. The research methodology involves a comprehensive literature review to establish the theoretical framework for understanding PPPs in the context of local government service delivery. The study also includes a quantitative analysis of data collected from various local governments that have implemented PPP projects. The findings reveal that successful PPPs are characterized by clear objectives, strong governance structures, effective risk management, and active stakeholder engagement. On the other hand, challenges such as lack of transparency, inadequate capacity, and conflicting interests among stakeholders can hinder the success of PPP initiatives. The discussion of findings delves into specific case studies to illustrate how different factors influence the outcomes of PPP projects in local governments.
