This thesis examines the impact of e-government on citizen engagement in public administration. The advancement of information and communication technologies has transformed the way governments interact with citizens, offering new opportunities for engagement and participation. In recent years, e-government initiatives have gained momentum worldwide, aiming to enhance the efficiency, transparency, and accessibility of public services. However, the extent to which e-government initiatives have effectively improved citizen engagement remains a subject of debate. The study begins by providing an overview of the background and context of e-government and citizen engagement in public administration. It explores the evolution of e-government initiatives and their potential to transform the relationship between governments and citizens. The problem statement highlights the existing gaps in research regarding the impact of e-government on citizen engagement and calls for a comprehensive investigation to address these gaps. The objectives of the study are to assess the influence of e-government on citizen engagement, identify the key factors that contribute to successful e-government initiatives, and evaluate the challenges and limitations faced in implementing e-government strategies.
