The rise of social media platforms has revolutionized the way individuals, particularly young adults, communicate and interact with one another. While these platforms offer various benefits, concerns have been raised about their potential negative impact on mental health. This longitudinal study aims to investigate the relationship between social media use and mental health among young adults over a specific period. The research will explore how different aspects of social media use, such as time spent, types of activities engaged in, and interactions with others, may influence mental health outcomes. The study will begin with a comprehensive review of existing literature on social media use and its effects on mental health. Various theoretical frameworks and empirical studies will be examined to provide a solid foundation for the research.
