**Abstract
** This longitudinal study investigates the impact of social media use on mental health in young adults. Social media platforms have become an integral part of daily life for many individuals, especially young adults. Concerns have been raised about the potential negative effects of excessive social media use on mental health, including increased levels of anxiety, depression, and loneliness. This study aims to examine the relationship between social media use and mental health outcomes over time in a sample of young adults. The research will be conducted using a longitudinal design, which allows for the examination of changes in social media use and mental health outcomes over an extended period. A sample of young adults will be recruited and assessed at multiple time points to capture these changes. The study will utilize a combination of self-report measures and objective data on social media use to provide a comprehensive understanding of the relationship between these variables. The findings from this study have the potential to contribute to the existing literature on social media use and mental health by providing insights into the long-term effects of social media use on young adults.
