This longitudinal study explores the impact of social media on the mental health of young adults. Chapter One provides an introduction to the study, presenting the background, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the thesis, and definitions of key terms. Chapter Two consists of a comprehensive literature review that examines existing research on social media and mental health in young adults, focusing on ten key themes. Chapter Three outlines the research methodology, including details on the study design, participant selection, data collection methods, measurement tools, data analysis techniques, ethical considerations, and potential limitations. Chapter Four presents a detailed discussion of the findings, analyzing the relationship between social media usage and mental health outcomes based on the longitudinal data collected.
