The rapid advancement and integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies in various aspects of society have raised significant ethical concerns regarding the moral responsibility and decision-making processes of AI systems. This thesis delves into the complex ethical landscape surrounding AI systems, aiming to critically analyze the implications of AI technology on moral decision-making and the ethical responsibilities associated with its implementation. The study explores the ethical frameworks and principles guiding AI development and deployment, as well as the societal implications of autonomous decision-making by AI systems. Chapter One provides an introduction to the topic, discussing the background and rationale for the study, the problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, and the structure of the thesis. This chapter also includes a comprehensive definition of key terms to establish a foundational understanding of the subject matter. In Chapter Two, a thorough literature review is conducted to examine existing research, theories, and debates surrounding the ethics of AI, moral responsibility, and decision-making in AI systems.
