Thesis Abstract

Abstract
The aim of this study was to develop and evaluate novel drug delivery systems for targeted cancer therapy, with the overarching goal of improving treatment outcomes and minimizing adverse effects associated with conventional chemotherapy. Cancer remains a significant global health challenge, with existing treatments often being limited by non-specific targeting and systemic toxicity. Drug delivery systems offer a promising approach to enhance the efficacy and safety of anticancer agents by improving their pharmacokinetic profile and targeting specific cancer cells or tissues. Chapter 1 provides an introduction to the research topic, including the background of the study, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the thesis, and definitions of key terms. The literature review in Chapter 2 covers ten key areas related to drug delivery systems, cancer therapy, targeted drug delivery, nanomedicine, and various approaches to improve drug efficacy and reduce toxicity.
