Cancer remains a significant public health challenge worldwide, with targeted therapy emerging as a promising approach to enhance treatment efficacy and reduce adverse effects. In the field of pharmacy, the development and evaluation of novel drug delivery systems have gained traction as a means to improve the delivery of anticancer agents specifically to tumor sites while minimizing systemic toxicity. This thesis focuses on exploring innovative drug delivery systems for targeted cancer therapy, aiming to enhance therapeutic outcomes and address the limitations of conventional chemotherapy. The introduction provides a comprehensive overview of the background of the study, highlighting the current landscape of cancer treatment, the challenges associated with traditional chemotherapy, and the rationale for developing targeted drug delivery systems. The problem statement underscores the need for more effective and less toxic treatment modalities for cancer patients, laying the foundation for the research objectives. The objective of this study is to design, develop, and evaluate novel drug delivery systems tailored for targeted cancer therapy. Through a systematic literature review, Chapter 2 examines the existing knowledge in drug delivery systems, highlighting key concepts, mechanisms, and recent advancements in the field. The literature review sets the stage for the subsequent chapters by providing a solid theoretical framework for the research.
