Abstract
Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) techniques play a crucial role in maximizing oil production from mature oil fields. This thesis investigates various EOR methods to optimize oil recovery in mature oil fields and addresses the challenges associated with implementing these techniques. The study focuses on the application of chemical, thermal, and gas injection EOR methods in mature oil fields to enhance oil production efficiency. The research methodology involves a comprehensive literature review to analyze the effectiveness of different EOR techniques in mature oil fields. Various case studies and field applications are examined to provide insights into the practical implementation of EOR methods. Additionally, laboratory experiments and simulations are conducted to evaluate the impact of different EOR techniques on oil recovery rates and reservoir performance. The findings of this study reveal the significant potential of EOR techniques in improving oil recovery from mature oil fields. The analysis shows that chemical flooding, thermal methods such as steam injection, and gas injection techniques such as CO2 flooding can enhance oil production rates and extend the economic life of mature oil fields.
