Thesis Abstract

Abstract
Modern communication equipment has become an essential tool in the workplace, revolutionizing how secretaries in business organizations carry out their job responsibilities. This research project aims to explore the contributions of modern communication equipment to the job performance of secretaries in select business organizations. The study will focus on identifying the specific types of modern communication equipment used by secretaries, such as smartphones, computers, email services, and video conferencing tools, and examining how these tools impact their job performance. The research will utilize a mixed-method approach, combining both qualitative and quantitative methods to gather data. Qualitative data will be gathered through interviews with secretaries to understand their experiences with using modern communication equipment in their daily tasks. On the other hand, quantitative data will be collected through surveys distributed to secretaries to measure the perceived impact of modern communication equipment on their job performance. The study hypothesizes that modern communication equipment enhances the job performance of secretaries in various ways. Firstly, the use of smartphones allows secretaries to stay connected with colleagues and clients, enabling quick communication and information sharing. Secondly, computers and email services streamline administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments, organizing documents, and responding to inquiries promptly. Lastly, video conferencing tools facilitate virtual meetings, reducing the need for physical presence and improving efficiency in communication. The findings of this research are expected to provide valuable insights into the role of modern communication equipment in enhancing the job performance of secretaries in business organizations. By understanding the specific contributions of these tools, organizations can make informed decisions on investing in the right technology to support their secretarial staff. Additionally, the study aims to highlight the importance of training and support in utilizing modern communication equipment effectively to maximize its benefits. Overall, this research project will contribute to the existing literature on the intersection of modern communication equipment and job performance in the context of secretarial roles. The findings will not only benefit business organizations in optimizing their communication strategies but also provide practical recommendations for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of secretarial work in the digital age.

Thesis Overview

The purpose of this study is to investigate human relations skills in the job performance of secretaries with new Nigeria bank, Uchi Community bank all in Auchi as case study. Questionnaire were used to collected data from a total of fifty respondents made up of twenty five official staff and twenty five non official staff of the bank covered. The simple percentage method was used in analyzing the data collected from the respondents based on the responses from the questionnaires. This study revealed that good human relation is a motivator of workers towards job performance and productivity. It also revealed that there is no positive relationship if there are no good human relations. Since situations some times change, if good human relations is not done in the bank, there will be difficulties in getting the best out of the workers. Based on the study of the findings, appropriate recommendations were made.
