The rapid advancement of technology has revolutionized the way businesses operate, emphasizing the importance of efficient document management systems. This thesis focuses on the implementation of a Document Management System (DMS) in a small business setting to enhance organizational productivity and streamline document handling processes. The study explores the background of DMS, identifies the challenges faced by small businesses in document management, and sets out the objectives to be achieved through the implementation of a DMS. The research methodology employed for this study includes a comprehensive literature review, qualitative and quantitative data collection methods, and analysis techniques to evaluate the impact of the DMS implementation on small business operations. Chapter One provides an introduction to the research topic, discussing the background of the study, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the thesis, and definitions of key terms.
